The two electricians they sent out to install 6 new dimmable LED potlights were extremely professional and did a great job. During the installation prep they realized there was some plumbing right where we wanted some lights, making it impossible to install the lights they brought, so they went out and quickly got some new slimmer ones that would fit in the limited space available. They also did a great job minimizing drywall damage and cleaned up after the installation was complete. We're very pleased with the lights!

I’m really conflicted on this one—in most ways, they did a very nice job and the service was great. But, it was also a frustrating experience, and I’m dissatisfied with one of the four things they installed... plus wasn’t cheap.

The crew had an amazing attitude; the office was polite but overbearing.

Electrician Tyler and co-worker Nick arrived early on promised date of installation. I found them not only knowledgeable and professional but also courteous and efficient. We bought a new house five years ago and always notice "issues" with the electricity in the house, breakers popping, light burning out in an hour as opposed to the 8000 hours advertised. Not only was I concerned about the potential of a fire, but also the insurance company's denying a claim should one ever arise due to whatever the problem might be. I called Hotwire and they sent over the most knowledgeable master electrician I have ever met. He spent well over an hour looking, checking & testing everything. Within a week I had the quote that I was promised which clearly outlined the deficiencies and everything I needed to do to ensure that I am 100% code compliant. When I started searching for a professional company to take care of my panel upgrade - I ended up with Hotwire Power Group because of all the positive reviews. It's tough to not deal with a company that has so many happy customers.

We started trying to schedule the work several weeks ago, and the office staff never grew frustrated with me, despite what I consider now to be too many requests regarding dates and times ( made by me). They stayed professional and courteous - and we landed on a date. Permits and contacts were handled for me, and I was always kept informed.

The two electricians that showed up ( on time ! ) first thing in the morning were top-notch. They introduced themselves, and asked to see the work area and related items that I came to understand they would be checking on later when we powered back up. The process was explained to me, and they went about their work.

I am terrible with names, but these two guys worked outside in the rain, kept coming inside as needed, and even changed boots for cleanliness and safety. That's a small thing, but an important one. Throughout the job, they kept work areas clean, explained things, and kept the job moving forward. This was important because although it wasn't winter, it was chilly outside and we had no power during the panel swap. I work with tradespeople - and I found it odd that I never heard a swear word once - which is how a professional who works well with the public would act.

Back in April 2013, I used Hotwire Power Group for multiple items (main floor pot lights, timers on exhaust bathroom vents, external light fixture installation and kitchen pendant light installation) including adding a whole home surge protection on a 200 amp electrical box.
The surge protection service was about $715 before HST. Everything was done well.
In Summer 2017, there were some concerns that another licensed electrician had with the Surge Protector (while we are finishing our basement) and Hotwire Power Group was quick to help after I contacted them by sending a photo with the instructions highlighted from the surge protector's manufacturer [see picture]. As well as having Oris (Hotwire Power Group's Master Electrician) being available for a conference call with me, my basement general contractor and the licensed electrician that my GC was using that had the concerns.
I appreciated how even after 4 years, Hotwire Power Group was willing to stand by their work and support their customer.

A little slow to respond to emails initially, but I'm lucky they responded with a detailed quote the morning I had another reputable company (who recently upgraded our entire home) scheduled..They didn't charge me for the time it took to get me a quote, which is an honest way of not sinking me into using them after an initial consult, and their quote was much lower than their competition.I have to add, that they fixed an error they noticed (from the same competitor) in my panel at no extra charge.Tyler and Anthony were the guys that did the work and I'd say Tyler was the right amount of professional and regular guy you'd have a beer with.When they were finished, I noticed they installed a 2 outlet plug instead of a 4 outlet plug, but that probably had something to do with the fact that I never told them I wanted 4 outlets. I asked them how long and how much it would take to redo my mistake and they said no problem, stayed another hour, and I wasn't even charged more.Without these guys I honestly wouldn't even know that I was so ripped off by the competition. I'm keeping this contact and will reach out to them immediately if I need anything.
